This article serves to introduce some of the more popular resorts and hotels in Bohol's Panglao Island. However, we can only review a few of these hotel and resorts as there are just too many of them to cover in just one article.

Resort Hotels in Bohol, Panglao

Ananyana Beach Resort – The Ananyana Beach Resort is located on the Doljo Beach on Panglao Island just off the main Bohol Island. Ananyana is a luxury resort and have only ten guest rooms and two family rooms. The resort deliberately limit its size so as to create an intimate atmosphere.

There is an open air restaurant serving Asian and international cuisines and delicacies. The resort's small beach bar can serve you light snacks and drinks of your choice. There is also a small souvenir shop selling Philippine arts and crafts.

Should you wish to be pampered further, step into the hotel's herbal spa and be treated with relaxing massages, facials and herbal baths.

Ananyana Beach Resort owns two outrigger boats which are meant to take guests out for scuba diving, fishing or simply island hopping. The resort also offers excursions to nearby tourist attractions such as the world famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol and taking a cruise in Loboc River.

Alona Palm Beach Resort – Just like Ananyana above, the Alona Palm Beach Resort is also in Panglao Island which is connected by two bridges to the main island of Bohol. The resort is located on an elevated area in the middle of a spacious and quiet lush tropical garden.

A swaying coconut palm grove lies between the resort's dozen luxury villas and the pristine white sandy beach. The coconut palm grove probably influenced the name of the resort.

Alona's open restaurant overlook the swimming pool and the sea offering charming views for diners. It serves delicious mouth watering Filipino and international cuisine, prepared by a German chef.

Guests are invited to participate in resort organized activities such as a game of table tennis, putting in a 9-hole miniature golf course, go kayaking, mountain biking, snorkeling and massages. There are also nearby convenient establishments along Alona Beach such as dive centers, restaurants and beach bars.

Amarela Resort – Amarela Resort is a premium luxury boutique hotel resort. The resort sits on top of a gentle slope with easy access to the beautiful beach. Since it is on elevated ground, Amarela Resort commands a breathtaking view of the Bohol Sea and other islands.

The rooms in this boutique hotel resort are tastefully furnished, well equipped and luxuriously comfortable with sea view balconies. There are altogether 25 guest-rooms and they are classified as Superior Twin, De Luxe Twin, De Luxe Double, Connecting Rooms, Antequera Suite and Amarela Suite with different room rate for each classification.

This resort hotel takes pride in its traditional designs and furnishings such as massive traditional Filipino wooden doors, handcrafted lattice, antique furnitures, ethnic sculptures, basketry and paintings. Now, when contrasted with Amarela's modern facilities such as satellite televisions and internet access, Amarela is certainly a touch of the old world with modern comfort. - Bohol Panglao Resort Hotels was posted on 22 Nov 2007.
