The Indian state of Kerala is very well blessed with breathtaking beautiful
landscapes and beaches which are the state's main tourist attractions. With so
many tourists traveling to Kerala for holiday vacations, the resorts and hotel
industry is doing a roaring business. Let us take a look at some of the more
reputable hotel resorts in Kerala.
Coconut Lagoon Kumarakom - There are basically three types of
accommodation at the Coconut Lagoon Resort at Kumarakom and they are the
Heritage Mansions, Heritage Bungalows and Private pool villas.
Coconut Lagoon Resort is actually part of the Casino Group of Hotels and
is located in the enchanting backwater countryside of Kerala. This resort is
perhaps best known for its excellent Kerala cuisine and Ayurvedic Spa.
Le Meridien – Le Meridien is more of a hotel than a resort but
then again, it has the ambience of a resort retreat. Le Meridien is located in
Cochin or Kochi which is the commercial center of Kerala and is surrounded by
lush greeneries and awesome landscape with a breathtaking view of Kerala's
famed natural backwaters.
Le Meridien Hotel is designed with 150 guest- rooms and about

Club Mahindra Lakeview Hotel - Club Mahindra is actually a
3.5-star hill resort situated barely 22 km (about 10 miles) away from Munnar.

gardens and cloud shrouded hilly terrain.

Kumarakom Lake Resort – As its name suggests, Kumarakom Lake
Resort is situated on the banks of Lake Vembanad. There are 50 centrally
air-conditioned cottages in this resort by the lake.
Guests will be charmed by the views of extensive backwaters, lagoons and
canals nearby. You can also participate in various water sporting activities

have to take an exhilarating 10 minute boat ride to the resort.
Kovalam Ashok Beach Resort – This article will fail in its duty
if there is no mention of the mother of all beach resorts in Kerala, the
Kovalam Ashok Beach Resort. This resort is the first, the finest and the
largest 5-star beach resort in Kerala.
The hotel resort offers 196 guest-rooms which include 4 Royal Suites in
the Halcyon Castle. The hotel has got 3 water swimming pools, which is quite
understandable because of their numerous guests and a huge convention center
that can accommodate more than 750 delegates with cutting edge facilities.
There is also a cluster of 40 kudils or beach cottages down by the beach
for hire. Each cottage has two studio bedrooms with private sundecks.
Guests of Kovalam Ashok Beach Resort will have no opportunity to be
bored because they can go swimming, sunbathing, sail in catamarans, learn
yoga, watch the exotic dance performance of Kathakali or get pampered in
ancient Keral herbal oil bath and massage. Excursions are also conducted to
numerous tourist attractions nearby such as the Elephant Sanctuary at Periyar,
the wooden palace of Padmanabhapuram or simply taking backwater cruises.
Of course, there are many more excellent Kerala resorts and hotels not
mentioned in this short article. – Kerala Resort
